Trace Adkins’ New Western ‘Apache Junction’ Is Out, And It Looks Like a Shot of Pure Cowboy Adrenaline

Get ready, Trace Adkins fans! The country music star’s new Western is out! And, judging by a trailer he shared on social media, it looks like it will give you a shot of pure cowboy adrenaline.

The 59-year-old “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” singer’s new film is titled “Apache Junction.” Taking to social media, Adkins announced that the film was released on Friday, Sept. 24.

He described the film’s plot as: “Apache Junction is an outpost of lawlessness, a haven for thieves and cold-blooded killers. After big-city reporter Annabelle Angel (Scout Taylor-Compton) arrives to write an article on the town, she becomes a target when notorious gunslinger Jericho Ford (Stuart Townsend) comes to her aid.”

According to what Trace Adkins also shared, this leaves the character of Annabelle with some important choices to make. “Now Annabelle must entrust her future to a man with a deadly past, as Jericho heads toward a tense showdown in this thrilling Western that unloads a double-barreled blast of action,” the “Every Light in the House” singer posted.

Not only did he give a written description of “Apache Junction,” Adkins also shared a trailer for the film on Instagram. It is the country music singer who appears first in the trailer. “One man took on three and came out the victor,” he says at the opening of the preview.

‘Apache Junction’ Is Not the Only Film of Trace Adkins’ Career

According to IMDb, the cast of “Apache Junction” also includes Thomas Jane as the character Al Longfellow. Jane is known for his roles in such films as “Boogie Nights,” “The Punisher,” and also “The Mist.” The Western was written and directed by Justin Lee.

His role as Captain Hensley in “Apache Junction” is not the first acting role Trace Adkins has had during his career. He has also appeared in such films as “The Lincoln Lawyer,” “Deepwater Horizon,” and “The Outsider.”

The country music star has also appeared in several television shows. These include “My Name is Earl,” “King of the Hill,” “American Dad,” and “To Appomattox.”

Adkins isn’t stopping with the new Western either. His upcoming projects include the films “13 Minutes,” “The Desperate Riders,” and “Maneater.”

He is also appearing in the upcoming television series, “Monarch” about country music. This new show will also star Academy Award-Winning actress Susan Sarandon. She will portray the character of Dottie Cantrell Roman, who is described as the queen of country music. Trace Adkins will play Albie Roman. Albie is Dottie’s husband and he is also a very popular country music star.

This new series is expected to premiere on Jan. 30, 2022, on Fox.
