People from certain parts of the US remember the Blizzard of ’93 like it was yesterday. It was a tough time and many people didn’t know if they were going to get through it. Some didn’t. Years from now, we’ll look back at 2020 in much the same way. It was a hard year and many of us didn’t know if we would make it through it. Many didn’t. However, just because it was a bad time for humanity as a whole doesn’t mean that it was equally as bad for Trace Adkins. Some folks actually found a way to turn 2020 into a good year. For instance, Trace Adkins says it was one of the best years of his life.

Trace Adkins went into 2020 on a high note. He married model/actress Victoria Pratt in October of 2019. Blake Shelton officiated their wedding. So they were still in the “honeymoon” stage of their marriage. That probably made not being on the road just a tad easier. however, being home didn’t just give him more time with his new bride. It opened him up to follow several creative pursuits as well as to finish projects around his farm.

This year, Trace Adkins is celebrating 25 years in country music with The Way I Wanna Go. He recorded most of the 25 songs on that album during 2020, according to Taste of Country. However, that was only the tip of the iceberg for Adkins.

Trace Adkins Was Productive in 2020

He wasn’t just in the studio recording brand new music. Trace Adkins also had time to shoot three movies. About this, he told Taste of Country that he would show up on the set in the morning and take a rapid-response COVID test. Then, after everyone’s test came up negative, they were able to get to work.

Right now, Trace Adkins’ IMDb shows that he is in four films set to come out later this year. The Desperate Riders and Apache Junction are both ready to go. He and his wife Victoria worked together in those films. Adkins will also appear in 13 Minutes and Old Henry.

Instead of being upset about the downtime, he looked at it as early retirement. About this, he said, “Man, I told somebody the other day, it was like being retired while I’m still healthy enough to enjoy it.” Trace Adkins feels a little guilty about how well the year went for him. However, he won’t act like it wasn’t. “It was the best year of my life… I’m like ‘Yeah, I do kind of feel a little guilty about it.’ But I’m not going to lie about it, either.” He went on to say that it was the most creatively productive year of his life.

However, Adkins knows that he is in the minority. “I feel for everybody else, especially people who lost loved ones.” He added that he thinks that being forced to take stock of his life served him well.
