Travis Tritt took to Twitter late Saturday night to talk about broad generalizations. In a pair of tweets, the Grammy-winning country singer threw out a couple of examples to show just how ridiculous it is to look at the world in black-and-white. Tritt points out that not all Trump supporters are to blame for the attempted storming of the Capitol earlier this month.

Travis Tritt calls for a little nuance with his tweets. He says that if Trump’s supporters are to blame for the act of domestic terrorism, then he feels that Democrats have their own crimes to answer for. Specifically, Tritt highlights the 2017 Congressional baseball shooting. According to him, if all of Trump’s followers are responsible for the raid on the Capitol, then all Dems are responsible for that shooting.

Travis Tritt Shows His Country Spirit

The Grammy-winning country star has been showing his country spirit in the last few months. Back in September, Travis Tritt dropped his first single in over a decade. “Ghost Town Nation,” is all about getting back to the basics out in the sticks.

In the track, Travis Tritt talks about getting away from civilization when things go bad. When it all hits the fan, he sings about going to a place “Where the fish are still biting/ And the eating’s still good/ Where the garden keeps cranking out corn and beans/ And the moonshine’s running/ ‘Cause the creek water’s clean.”

Fishing and moonshine sound like the perfect answer to civilization going to Hell in a handbasket. Keeping your line and your whistle wet is always a great way to get some much-needed perspective. At the same time, there’s nothing like some fresh corn right out of the garden. Honestly, we’re ready to pack up and move to the Ghost Town Nation without the imminent threat of societal collapse. Especially if Travis Tritt provides the soundtrack.

Make no mistake, Travis Tritt isn’t just singing about getting back to the basics. Earlier this month, he posted some photos on his Instagram that featured gorgeous views from his duck blind. Those pictures showed that he’s a man who not only knows how to harvest the bounty of nature but also how to appreciate its beauty.

If things go south, folks like Travis Tritt will have it made out in the sticks with nothing but what nature provides. If that isn’t country, I don’t know what is.
