Trisha Yearwood finds out the hard way that sometimes you can teach but it doesn’t mean people listen. The country singer responded to a face-smacking Thanksgiving fail.
A user on Twitter complained about how messy their kitchen got on the big holiday. They wrote, “As the juice from the turkey burns at the bottom of the stove and smokes up the entire house. I’m left with many questions….Like why do we do this again?! Thanksgiving? WHY?”
Yearwood had questions. She wanted to know how they managed to spill turkey juice in their stove. It was a face-palming moment for the country singer. Yearwood shared a virtual representation of herself doing just that.
She wrote, “How is there juice on the bottom of your stove???? Have I taught you nothing?”
Trisha Yearwood Loves to Cook
While she may be primarily known as a country singer, Yearwood also loves to cook. She’s even formed a second career within the culinary arts. Yearwood has written a line of successful cookbooks and has her own cooking show “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.” Before Thanksgiving, Yearwood shared some of her recipes. For instance, she knows how to make a mean sweet potato pie.
One of the reasons she learned to cook was to feel connected to her family. Yearwood’s family has recipes passed down from generation to generation. Now she cooks to remember her late mother and grandmother.
“I learned to cook after I moved to Nashville. I was homesick and missed my mother’s cooking. So I tried to make her potato salad. I cried when it tasted like hers. That reminder of home was comforting,” Yearwood said. “Now the majority of the things I cook are recipes from my mom and grandmother. They have passed away, but the recipes remain a way to stay connected with them.”
