Ask Blake Shelton his favorite Christmas memory. Hint, it involves weather back home in Oklahoma.
“I can’t remember if I was 7 or 8 years old,” Shelton said. “It actually snowed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. And it was magical to me.”
Shelton is one of the four coaches on NBC’s “The Voice.” The coaching quartet provided a brief glimpse of their favorite Christmas memories as a treat for their fans. Shelton posted the clips to his Twitter feed Thursday. He teased, writing “Gwen Stefani let out my big secret. My gifts are the best.”
Stefani, Shelton’s fiance, talked about singing as her memory. That seems appropriate for the long-time rock star.
“We’d go to church on Christmas Eve,” Stefani said. “Then we’d come back and do Christmas carols around the piano.”
John Legend, another coach on “The Voice,” also talked of holiday singing. Family time at the Legend’s sounds competitive.
“The most important tradition in my family is singing,” Legend said. “It’s almost like a talent show every year.”
What Does Blake Shelton Adore Most About Christmas? All Of It
Then, it came back to Shelton. He loves everything about Christmas.
“I love food,” Shelton said. “I love family. And I really love presents.”
We’re not sure what gifts will be exchanged between Shelton and Stefani.
But earlier in the day, “US Weekly” broke the news that Shelton built a small chapel at his Oklahoma ranch. The two will be married there. Sources told the magazine the marriage likely will be early next year.
Last month, Stefani started showing off her engagement ring. The couple have been together for five years.
Shelton bought his fiance a huge sparkler of a ring. Given how much Stefani embraces whimsical fashion, there was a lot of pressure to get the appropriate ring. It’s a 6.9-carat solitaire diamond. The estimated cost is about $500,000.
That’s a nice gift.
