Carrie Underwood shined, like always, in a dazzling performance during her CMA Summer Jam performance that aired Thursday evening.

The country singer brought her own brand of glitz, glamour; and some hard-core country-rock during the performance at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater.

Among the hits performed by the country-music superstar in Music City was a rocking performance of Underwood’s smash hit “Church Bells.”

The music star primed the crowd before belting out the tune. Telling her fans it was time to “make some noise!” as she stood on the stage in full country superstar style, guitar and all.

“Whoo!” says Carrie Underwood as she begins the hit song featured on her Storyteller album.

Rocking the House With “Church Bells”

CMA Country Music shared the fiery performance on Twitter Thursday evening.

Ladies and gentlemen” said the post. “@CarrieUnderwood has arrived #CMASummerJam on @ABCNetwork.”

The crowd went wild as she and her band began to play the first few cords of “Church Bells.”

The performance was nothing shy of phenomenal. And, the country star showed us exactly what it is that makes her such a powerful voice in country music.

Underwood found fame as she was introduced to the world after finding a spot competing on the fourth season hit FOX music competition, American Idol.

The country superstar made music history when her debut single “Inside Your Heaven” found number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Carrie Underwood was the only country artist in the 2000s to debut at number one on the chart.

Carrie Underwood’s Star Power and Cross-Over Success

While country music is the super star’s specialty, the exposure that Carrie Underwood received while competing on American Idol gave the singer an unprecedented amount of cross-over star power.

Underwood’s 2005 debut album, “Some Hearts” included the hit singles “Jesus Take the Wheel” and “Before He Cheats.”

Both songs not only became hit country-music singles, but they also found popularity among pop-music audiences as well.

Carrie Underwood’s debut album became the best-selling female debut album in country music history.

In 2008, country music icon Randy Travis invited Carrie Underwood to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. In May 2008, the young country music star was inducted into the prestigious Opry by Garth Brooks.

During the CMA Summer Jam, which aired on ABC Thursday evening, Carrie Underwood also performed another one of her fan-favorite hits, the Grammy-winning “Last Name.”

The star-studded event was filmed in July among downtown Nashville’s breathtaking skyline; with some of the biggest names in the business taking the stage.

The evening included performances by country superstars such as Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, Florida Georgia Line, Gabby Barrett, Eric Church, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani.

The CMA Summer Jam concert marked the first CMA concert broadcast in nearly two years.
