Chris Stapleton may be starting over. But he’s also introducing some of his old favorites to fans for the first time. Sometimes a song may stay in an artist’s mind for years before they’re ready to introduce the tune to audiences.

Such was the case with Stapleton’s song “You Should Probably Leave,” which released on his new album “Starting Over.” It’s fair to say the tune just wouldn’t leave him alone. Chris Stapleton first introduced the song to audiences six years ago on a stage in Nashville.

The artist gave the audience a sneak peek before shelving the song nationally for another half decade.

But the song’s in good company on Chris Stapleton’s new album “Starting Over,” which released in November. The album earned the artist a place on the top of Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. The album arrived at the perfect time for a nation looking for a little love, strength, and healing.

In a statement, Stapleton described the message behind his new album.

“In my life when I’ve needed strength, love, peace, joy, friendship, focus, courage, understanding, hope, or healing I’ve found those things in music,” Chris Stapleton wrote. “As you listen, I pray you find some of those things here. May we all look to the best of who we’ve been & the promise of who we can be. Here’s to starting over.”

Fans may have been waiting for the new album. But they weren’t disappointed by Chris Stapelton. The album features 11 new songs, including “You Should Probably Leave,” which may not be so new to Stapleton. It also includes three covers – John Fogerty’s “Joy Of My Life” and Guy Clark’s “Worry B Gone” and “Old Friends.”

“Starting Over” is follow Stapleton’s 2017 albums “From A Room: Volume 1” and “Volume 2.” These previous albums also released No. 1.
