Jon Pardi has been rocking out old school-style.
The country singer recently posted a video of himself covering George Strait’s “You Look So Good in Love” on the tour bus. He shared it on Instagram on Saturday night.
Pardi has covered Strait before. He released an album of cover songs, “Rancho Fiesta Sessions,” this August. And it featured Strait’s “Right or Wrong” as well as “Marina Del Rey.”
Taste of Country reported that Jon Pardi recorded all eight songs on the record in one live session with his touring band.
Pardi has refused to let the pandemic stop him from playing music. He headlined a drive-in concert in Jacksonville, Florida this month that garnered mixed reviews. He also performed at several drive-in concerts this July.
But the coronavirus has put a bit of a dent in Pardi’s love life. He and fiancée Summer Duncan have been trying since May to get married. And according to Taste of Country, they’ve been forced to put off their wedding at least a couple of times.
The pair have reportedly settled on a solution: a wedding tour. They plan to hit up northern California, Texas, and Nashville to prevent people from massing in a large group all in one place.
In the meantime, he’s hosting an eight-episode variety show that will feature relationship advice, cooking and cocktail tips, Pardi Tunes, and more. It launched October 6 on CMT’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
“Jon is an incredible star and creative partner, and we are so excited to show off more of his dynamic personality,” CMT Senior Director of Digital & Social Melissa Goldberg said in a press release. “We know our CMT fans will love taking a peek into his home life, resonate with his authenticity and get a kick out of his crazy antics.”
