Luke Bryan knows how to whisper-sing.

The “One Margarita” singer played a game with Jimmy Fallon on a recent episode of The Tonight Show. The late night host and country crooner took turns singing/whispering songs while the other had headphones on. They had to lip-read in order to guess what the other person was singing.

First up was Luke Bryan. He sang Alanis Morissette’s “Ironic” to the confusion of Fallon. Fallon couldn’t figure it out and gave up. “Yeah, I was doing it in falsetto because I don’t need to blow a vocal chord out,” Bryan noted.

Fallon then sang Bryan’s fellow American Idol coach Lionel Richie’s hit, “All Night Long (All Night).” At first, Fallon was covering his mouth with a cue card and also singing in a different language from one of the verses. Once he set down the card, Bryan guessed it correctly immediately.

“Way to give me a foreign language,” Bryan bantered before going into the next song.

For the final round, Bryan performed Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again.” After discovering the correct key after the song was too high for him, Fallon figured out the song almost instantly.

Watch it all go down, below.

Luke Bryan’s New Music And Tour

Luke Bryan recently sat down with Outsider to discuss his latest record, Born Here Live Here Die Here. The six new songs for the deluxe edition were songs Bryan personally co-wrote and those he hand-picked from other writers.

“It all just happened naturally with these songs. They really blended with the theme of the album so well, so it was an easy decision,” Bryan told Outsider. “Country music is all about storytelling and that’s something that will always remain true. It is a way of life and that is defined differently for everyone.”

Bryan recently rescheduled his Proud to Be Here Tour to kick off in July and conclude in October. Originally, Morgan Wallen was set to support Bryan on the tour but revealed that he is taking time off. Dylan Scott will replace Morgan for the majority of the tour dates. Caylee Hammack and Runaway June will also join the tour for select dates.

“There is nothing more gratifying about writing and recording music than getting to play it live for the fans,” Luke Bryan said on his website. “There’s several songs off my new album that I’ve never performed live. I can’t believe this moment is nearly here when we get to hop on the tour bus and roll into towns across America and get back to doing what we do best. What we live to do!”
