Luke Bryan managed to catch a lunker when he embedded two points of a treble hook into his thumb while fishing.
A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work, unless of course you end up in the ER with a hook in your hand.
Luke Bryan posted a video via Instagram on March 30 with a succinct caption: “Dammit.”
We share his sentiment. The short clip features a close-up of Luke’s hand with two barbs of a treble hook deeply embedded in his left thumb. One barb comes clean through the skin, while the second appears to be deep enough to penetrate his thumb bone. The good news: it wasn’t a triple point embed.
“Welp, this is gonna leave a mark,” says Luke, who’s standing in a moving boat. “Pretty sure that’s in my bone.”
Luke’s Not Lovin’ Every Day
Look, we’re not one to make fun of a serious injury, but Luke sounded like he was in good spirits in the video that has already been viewed more than one million times. There’s even a little laughter in the clip from an off-screen female, perhaps his wife, Caroline. And who knows, maybe the manufacturer of the crankbait that snagged Luke can use him in an upcoming promotional campaign. It’s not often you catch one of country’s biggest stars.
We’re hoping Luke’s fretting hand gets back to full strength post-haste. In the meantime, let’s make a few jokes at Luke’s expense based on his catalog of tunes. We think Luke would want it this way.
- Huntin’, fishin’, and (not) lovin’ every day.
- All my friends say . . . I should have worn fishing gloves.
- Down to one . . . hand.
