Luke Combs doesn’t adhere to the tried and true release format. Usually, an artist will cut a few songs or a whole album. Then, they’ll start dropping singles. The officially-released singles serve a few purposes. However, their main function is to garner excitement for the upcoming release. Combs, on the other hand, does things a little differently.
Over the past few years, Luke Combs has debuted songs on social media. Sometimes he’ll give fans a whole song. Other times, he’ll play a piece of something that he is working on just to get some fan feedback. This feedback is the heart of why he does what he does. If the fans love what he shows them, he knows he’s on the right track. That’s what he did with “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old,” back in February of this year.
At the time, he was stuck in Daytona due to the weather. Instead of moping around, he decided to give fans a taste of some new music. So, he played them a sample of “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old,” and they loved it.
In March, Luke Combs started talking openly about his next album. At one point, he simply tweeted that it was going to be “real good”. Last night, he tweeted out a video of him in the studio laying down vocals for “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old.”
Luke Combs in the Studio
Luke Combs started working on his third album the day after his 31st birthday. Like many other things, he announced that news via a tweet. From last night’s post, it looks like he is still hard at work in the booth. Combs hasn’t released any info on the upcoming album, yet. However, we do know that it should be coming soon. We now have confirmation that his ode to aging and settling down will be on the album.
There’s also a solid chance that it’s going to be a “real good,” album. We don’t have to take Luke Combs’ word for it, though. We just have to look at his track record. His first two albums were packed with hits. In fact, Combs currently has 11 chart-toppers under his belt. On top of that, both of those albums have been certified double platinum.
Luke Combs’ debut album, This One’s for You, stayed on top of the Billboard Hot Country Albums chart for fifty weeks. His follow-up release, What You See is What You Get, was an even bigger success. That one set some records for country albums.
So, it’s safe to say that fans are going to love what Luke Combs is cooking up in the studio right now.
