As one of country music’s biggest stars, Miranda Lambert knows how to put on a great show. Her Marfa Tapes friends do as well. Jack Ingram and Jon Randall have joined Lambert yet again.
This time, the trio jammed out at Austin City Limits. ACL got a wonderful rendition of their song Am I Right or Amarillo. When the three get together, it works so well. They play like three friends just jamming out, and that really is what they are.
Watch them harmonize and bring down the house at ACL.
While the performance didn’t include those great background noises of the Texas desert, like on the album, it was still powerful. The three have fun performing together and that comes through with every song. When you can just play free, the music can flow.
Miranda Lambert is one of the most versatile artists in country music today. When she takes the stage she can sing about a tequila party, strong cowboys, late nights, but she can also slow things down. The juxtaposition between hits like Tequila Does, Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home), and the songs on The Marfa Tapes.
When she does slow it down and let her vocals ring and vibrate, it’s truly special. There is a reason why she was nominated for seven CMA Awards last year and another three this year. She is truly a country music superstar. She is up for Entertainer of the Year yet again this year.
Miranda Lambert Already Winning Awards in 2021
While the Country Music Association Awards are still over a month away, Miranda Lambert is already winning awards. Her song Bluebird took home Song of the Year at the Nashville Songwriters International Awards. That song won Music Video of the Year last year at the 2020 CMAs.
Bluebird, written by Lambert, Natalie Hemby, and Luke Dick has been nominated for an umber of awards. Lambert was sure to thank her fellow songwriters when she was given the award. As the awards season continues, Lambert could be filling up more shelf space.
For the CMA Awards this year, the three categories are EOTY as mentioned above as well as Female Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year. Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home) earned her that last nomination. While it is not the dominant list she had last year, the most nominated woman in CMA history can’t complain too much.
Those awards will be given out soon. November 10 is the night, and there will be great performances and awards given out. Eric Church and Chris Stapleton both have five nominations apiece. Will Miranda Lambert snatch EOTY away?
