Country music legend Trace Adkins “scorned” a concert crowd at the Red River Valley fair as they belted out one of his famous lines from “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk.” Check out the video below, but we all know the words: “Whoo-wee/Shut my mouth, slap your grandma.”
“It sounds like you meant that,” Adkins joked. “Shame on you.” Despite the irony of the line, country fans love it and can’t resist belting it out loud when the time comes.
Despite the ever-lasting popularity of the song over the last decade and a half, it’s hard to understand which part the fans are singing back to Adkins in the video above. However, once that famous line turns up, the words ring loud and clear. An oldie but a goodie, “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” made its debut in 2005 and 16 years later, country fans old and new can’t help but fall in love with this groovy classic.
As country music fans, we are all certainly excited to have concert season back in full swing again, but based on Adkins’ caption, the artists are feeling the same way too. “It feels SO GOOD to see you all again!!!” he writes. And a little over a year after the coronavirus epidemic bombarded the United States and the rest of the world, country music fans and stars alike are finally getting a sense of normalcy.
Trace Adkins Will Be Releasing 25th Anniversary Album this August
As if we weren’t already thrilled to be able to attend concerts again, artists are finally coming back together and recording new music again. And after months of quarantine and social distancing guidelines, artists are ready to get back in the swing of things. And the fans? They are ready for the outburst of new music bound to hit radios over the rest of the summer and early fall.
Back in June, Adkins announced a new 25th-anniversary album entitled, The Way I Wanna Go. The album will debut 25 new songs to celebrate 25 years as a recording artist. The new album will also feature a broad host of music stars and celebrities including Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, and Snoop Dogg among others. See more information on the new album here.
Adkins will tour the US this summer and later plans to link up with Blake Shelton on his Friends and Heroes Tour. The country superstars, iconic on their own, are shaping up to be one of the biggest performances of the summer as they tour. Country stars Martina McBride, Tracy Byrd, and Lyndsay Ell will also be joining the two gentlemen as well.
Shelton’s Friends and Heroes Tour will kick off later this summer.
