On New Year’s Eve, country star Trace Adkins shared a year-ending message with his fans and said he’s looking forward to playing live shows in 2021.

Adkins posted a short message on Instagram to ring in the New Year. He acknowledged how strange of a year 2020 has been for most. In addition, the country singer said he’s looking forward to 2021 and getting back on the road to play shows for his fans.

“Well, 2020 is just about behind us. It’s been an interesting year, hadn’t it? That’s for sure. I’m looking forward to 2021, and being able to see all of you on the road again. Happy New Year!” Adkins said to his followers.

Trace Adkins Releases New Album ‘Ain’t That Kinda Cowboy’

Like most other musicians in 2020, Trace Adkins wasn’t able to tour throughout much of 2020. However, it sounds like the “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” singer is gearing up to hit the road in 2021.

Whenever Adkins takes the stage this year, his fans will get a chance to hear some new material. Adkins released his new EP Ain’t That Kinda Cowboy in October, so fans will finally get a chance to hear the album’s songs live.

“It was a lot of fun to get back into the studio with Mickey Jack (Cones) and work with Bart (Butler) on this EP. And I couldn’t be prouder of these songs from some of my favorite writers,” shared Adkins about Ain’t That Kind of Cowboy. “I’m looking forward to what’s to come.”

This is the first album by Adkins under Verge Records Nashville. Bart Butler produced the six-song EP. Additionally, Aaron Raitiere, Wynn Varble, TJ Osborne, John Osborne, and Tony Lane contributed as songwriters on the project.

“There’s a ballad and a couple of mid-tempos,” Adkins explained to The Tennessean in August. “It’s a little more sedate, but not unusual for anybody that’s followed my career. I love to do that stuff.”
