Happy Birthday sometimes means more when it’s coming from your superstar dad, like Willie Nelson.
Paula writes, “Thank you PapaBear and Annie ❤️ #muuuuuuaaahhhhhh xoxoxo”
Willie and Annie obviously continue rhyming after the song’s ending. They recite, “Any many more… on channel four… and don’t forget to shut the bathroom door.”
In addition, Willie is seen tugging at his shirt and says, “I got your shirt on.” He’s referring to Paula’s band shirt. She’s also in the music business. Paula and Willie have a duet together. It’s a cover of “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?”
The video ends with another happy birthday wish and an “I love you.”
Replies on the video have been sweet. Willie Nelson, being that icon that he is, is receiving praise on celebrating Paula’s birthday with the video. Other Twitter users are chiming in by wishing Paula happy birthday.
Willie Nelson Shares Details on Paula’s Birth
According to Willie Nelson’s recently published memoir “Me and Sister Bobbie,” the icon shares how Paula’s birth came to light.
Nelson has to confess to his second wife, Shirley Collie, after a hospital bill arrived at their home for Paula’s birth.
“I tried to play it off as no big deal,” Nelson writes, according to Page Six. “I told her that I had to go to the hospital for something minor.
“Shirley wasn’t buying that for one simple reason. The bill said the charges were for the birth of a baby girl, Paula Carlene, born to a Mrs. Connie Nelson.”
“Couldn’t lie. Was caught flat-footed,” Nelson recalls. “Had to get the words out of my mouth. ‘Connie’s my girlfriend and Paula’s our daughter.’”
Nelson and his second wife divorced, and he then married Paula’s mother, Connie Koepke. But that marriage didn’t last either. Paula is one of Nelson’s 6 children.
