What Luke Bryan Says During ‘Prayers at Night’ to His Late Siblings

While gearing up for the release of his IMDb TV docu-series Luke Bryan: My Dirty Diary, the country superstar is opening up about the struggles he faces in his personal life. This includes having to handle the heartbreak of losing multiple siblings.

During an interview with People last week, Luke Bryan discusses how he found his purpose after losing some close family members during the past 25 years. His brother, Chris, passed away after a car accident in 1996. Just a little over 10 years later, his older sister Kelly died of natural causes in 2007. Kelly’s husband Lee passed away in 2014. Luke and his wife Caroline raised all three of the couple’s children.

Speaking about the loss of his siblings, Luke Bryan states, “I’ve had so many tragedies in my life. It’s almost like you don’t want to tell the story because you don’t to feel like you’re out there craving sympathy.”

While also discussing how he has been handling the grief, Luke Bryan explains that you truly never get over the loss of a loved one. “You truly never settle in your mind that it’s happened. I mean, it’s always there.”

Luke Bryan further states that he thinks Chris, Kelly, and Lee have moved some “puzzle pieces” around to make his life so fortunate. “When I say my prayers at night, I have to say, ‘Thank y’all for looking after us down here.’”

Luke Bryan’s Fans Get a Closer Look Into His Life With New Docu-Series

According to IMDb description, Luke Bryan: My Dirt Road Diary follows the country icon as he experiences the ups, downs, triumphs, and tragedies along the road of “unprecedented” success. The series is set to premiere on August 6th. In the first episode, viewers start in Leesburg, Georgia where Luke was raised as they learn about his life and career from his family. The viewers also look into his life and follow his path to stardom.

Also during his interview with People, Luke Bryan talks about the special place he is in career-wise. “I don’t really feel I need to go reinvent something to complete my life as a country singer,” Luke explains. He also says he has done everything he’s ever wanted to do in music.

“Complete gravy for me. I mean, my true focus is to continue to work hard and write great songs. I may try to chase down a little thing to show them. But hey don’t forget I can do that,” Luke Bryan beams. He then notes that he can get really creative within country music.

In regards to what he’s really interested in, Luke Bryan says he loves being on stage. “The first three years of headlining, you don’t know if you can do it,” the country singer states. He describes stage performing as very challenging and has a lot of pressure.

“All of that pressure affects your ability to be your best. Now, the lack of pressure can truly make me my best,” Luke Bryan adds.
