Discovery’s first promo for Shark Week comes with a reminder that these aquatic predators have two penises. The network released a humorous trailer for the wildly popular TV event on Thursday.
This year’s 32nd annual installment of the summertime series kicks off on August 9. Over the course of this eight-day event, Discovery promises more than 20 hours of new programming. Shark Week 2020 also marks the 20th anniversary of the fan-favorite show, “Air Jaws.”
Discovery has long had fun with Shark Week teasers. However, this year’s may be the edgiest. Check out the teaser below:
In a press release, Discovery shares that the network “continues to work with nearly two dozen of the world’s most respected marine biologists and science institutions to bring brand-new, innovative shark research technology and compelling insight on some of the most unique shark species in the world.” This year’s show also takes viewers to oceans across the world “to see how the global lockdown and reduced amount of human activity on the seas has given sharks the opportunity to reclaim the oceans.”
The network will also team up with Oceana once again. The two are working together “to help protect sharks, which are threatened by a global shark fin trade that includes fins from as many as 73 million sharks each year.”
Discovery wants to make sure every fan of the show an opportunity to watch. The network “will leave no shark fan behind, bringing the #SHARKWEEK experience to viewers across digital and social media platforms.”
