Christopher Scott Ellis, famous for his time on Street Outlaws on Discovery, passed away September 9th in Oklahoma City. TMZ reports the mechanic, whose nickname is “Kentucky,” passed away in his home last Wednesday.
‘Kentucky’ was featured in the first season of Street Outlaws in 2013 and had reoccurring appearances on the show until 2018.
The medical examiner tells TMZ the autopsy was inconclusive, but a toxicology report is currently pending.
His obituary notes “his mother Loleta Sullins; brothers Robbie Ellis, Quentin Ellis, and Logan Justice; along with his sisters, Amanda Scothorn, Alana Messer, and Amanda Whobrey” live on missing Chris. Additionally, the obituary comments on Chris Ellis’s love for the outdoors and mentions that he was a “skilled hunter.“
Named Kentucky_Chris on Instagram, the mechanic notes in his bio that he works at Midwest Street Cars Automotive. Midwest Street Cars Automotive mentions in their Facebook page that they are “HOME OF THE TOP 10 KINGS OF THE STREET LIST” and call themselves “Americas street racing authority.”
The page has not yet posted on Ellis’s passing.
Though Ellis’s most recent post to Instagram was way back in 2017, followers comment “RIP” on his posts following his death.
Many are also filling the online guestbook provided by the funeral home. Fans, family members, and friends share their condolences and grief. People from all over the country have shared, “Prayers for the family. We are so sorry for your loss. Love watching him on tv” as well as “Gonna miss your presence on the show and at the track bud You always had a way to break up the tension it seemed Forever missed bud R.I.P.”
Fans can send well wishes or flowers to show support for his family. A small graveside service will be held for Ellis on Friday in Kentucky.
