Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Daughter Sets the Record Straight on His Return to Colorado

Lyssa Chapman (34) has assured followers that Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman will return to Florida. After news of the bounty hunter’s departure broke, Lyssa reported that her father had to fly back to Colorado “to handle some business.” Once squared away out west, the reality TV star will return to the sunshine state to continue the search for Brian Laundrie.

“Dad is headed back to Colorado temporarily to handle some business. ( Remember, he was in Florida on his honeymoon) We are still actively searching for #BrianLaundrie, leaving a team in place in Florida. As always, whatever I can share with you, I will,” Lyssa tweeted.

According to recent reports, Dog the Bounty Hunter injured his ankle during the search. Chapman plans to meet with his doctor in Colorado to assess the injury. The details regarding his condition are still unclear, however, his willingness to return to Florida seems to suggest that the star did not suffer any severe damage to his ankle.

Following Lyssa’s news about her father, she posted another update, stating that Twitter had locked her account for security reasons.

“A lot of people asking about my last tweet with big news,” she continued. “I’ve been asked to not share active information due to the large amount of media surrounding the case.”

Likely, that means we’ll have to wait to hear any news about his injury and any developments on the search once Chapman, himself, arrives back on site.

In Dog the Bounty Hunter’s absence, Duane Chapman has left a designated “Florida team” to continue the search for Brian Laundrie. Hopefully for Chapman, this means he will be able to continue his efforts without pause. During his brief return home, Dog the Bounty Hunter stated that he will continue to “process leads in Colorado.”

While Lyssa continues to cheer on her father in his efforts, her sister, Cecily (28), isn’t quite so proud. Recently, Chapman’s middle child spoke with The Sun regarding his intense participation in the search for Brian Laundrie. During the interview, Cecily reprimanded her father for encroaching on an FBI investigation.

“It’s just a publicity stunt. That’s really what it is,” Dog the Bounty Hunter’s daughter shared. “He needs to back off and let the FBI handle it.”

Cecily also doubted that the evidence that Chapman previously found would help the case.

“What, you found a Monster Energy can? What does that do for anyone?”

The 28-year-old also questioned how her father was conducting the investigation and with what funds. Conveniently enough, while discussing Dog the Bounty Hunter’s ankle injury, the team stated that Chapman will be organizing a fundraiser so that he may continue the “expensive search.”
