Dog the Bounty Hunter’s had a pretty rough go at it over the past week or so. Between legal threats and actual lawsuits, new reports detail that the ex-reality star might have sustained an injury during his search for Brian Laundrie at Florida’s De Soto Campgrounds. Here’s your latest update regarding that front.
Dog the Bounty Hunter Reportedly Headed to Colorado
Josh Benson is a reporter for WFLA News Channel 8, a local Florida network. He’s been in touch with Dog the Bounty Hunter’s team since the beginning of their search for Brian Laundrie at Fort De Soto. Benson shared an update with Twitter saying Dog’s team reached out with news concerning his physical health. Apparently, Dog somehow injured his ankle during the search. It’s unclear what exactly lead to this injury or what level of severity it carries.
So now, Dog is allegedly heading back to Colorado to meet with his doctor and get the ankle looked at. It may seem like the end of his attachment to the Gabby Petito investigation, but Dog supposedly says he will continue to parse out leads during his brief intermission from afar.
DOG. Just got an update from Dog the Bounty Hunter’s team. They say he’s headed back to Colorado soon to meet with his doctor after injuring his ankle in the search. He’s also raising funds to continue what he calls an ‘expensive search’. (1/2) #BrianLaundrie @DogBountyHunter— Josh Benson (@WFLAJosh) October 10, 2021
Search Task Gets Dubbed the ‘Florida Team’
As seen from Josh Benson’s initial tweet, Dog the Bounty Hunter is also working on getting more funding for the “expensive search.” In a follow-up to the tweet, Benson also reveals that Dog has dubbed his group of locals dedicated to the search the “Florida Team.” As it stands, the team reportedly includes unofficial task forces on the ground as well as boats in the water. They’ve even brought in search dogs in the past, with highly trained and skilled owners.
Funding is something that has been brought up since the start of Dog the Bounty Hunter’s inclusion in the search. While Dog vowed to add $10k to the rewards for Brian Laundrie’s arrest, his estranged family members want to know where the money is coming from.
“Realistically how is he doing this, what the hell is he doing, and who is funding this nonsense!?” Cecily Chapman said, according to Newsweek.
Neither Dog nor his official team has addressed those questions, so it will be interesting to see how his new pursuits for funding unfold.
Team says he’s put together a talented network of local team members he calls the ‘Florida Team’ that will continue the search while he’s gone. He says he will continue to process leads in Colorado while he’s there. (2/2) #BrianLaundrie @DogBountyHunter— Josh Benson (@WFLAJosh) October 10, 2021
