President Donald Trump and his disdain for the media has been growing down the stretch of his presidential campaign.
The president on Thursday posted footage from his interview with “60 Minutes” ahead of its scheduled air time. This comes as an apparent attempt to undercut CBS’ top program. Trump had grown heated with journalist Lesley Stahl and walked out during the interview.
CBS News called out the White House in light of President Trump posting the full interview online and violating the network’s agreement.
“The White House’s unprecedented decision to disregard their agreement with CBS News and release their footage will not deter ’60 Minutes’ from providing its full, fair and contextual reporting which presidents have participated in for decades,” CBS News said in a statement.
President Trump posted the nearly 40-minute interview to his Facebook page and on Twitter. He posted both links with the caption “Look at the bias, hatred and rudeness on behalf of 60 Minutes and CBS.”
Twitter Goes Crazy
Meanwhile, users on Twitter set the social media network ablaze after President Donald Trump released footage from the interview.
Eugene Gu, MD, and founder and CEO of CoolQuit.com, is often critical of Donald Trump. Hence his response today to his nearly 528,000 followers.
Further, talk show host, comedian, musician and writer Chip Franklin was critical of Trump as well. He went as far as to compare the president to Adolf Hitler.
However, many supporters of President Trump came to his defense on Twitter. That list includes former television host Bill O’Reilly. As shown below, he thought Trump made the right call by walking out of the interview.
U.S. Representative Jim Jordan chimed in by taking a shot at Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden.
Similarly, radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh told trump to ignore the headlines and polls.
Altogether, Trump’s interview will air Sunday on “60 Minutes.” His interview will air alongside interviews with Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris.
