A study from 2018 revealed a chemical in McDonald’s French fries could be a cure for baldness, and President Donald Trump chimed in that they could be the secret to his famous locks.

Japanese scientists reported that the chemical is added to the fries to keep the cooking oil from bubbling up. When they tested the same chemical on mice, the scientists said the mice regrew hair.

Additionally, the scientists reported it is the first time they mass produced what they call “hair follicle germs” with this method. The next step would be trying the chemical on human skin cells.

Fast forward to Wednesday, and President Trump suggested that McDonald’s fries were the secret to his trademark head of hair. While aboard Air Force One, Trump retweeted the old ABC report shared by Ari Fleischer, George Bush’s White House press secretary

“It doesn’t work,” wrote Fleischer jokingly since he is bald.

However, the president – whose love of McDonald’s is well known and has served it to White House guests — said he was living proof that the fries do indeed work.

“No wonder I didn’t lose my hair!” the president, 74, posted.

The Queens-born property developer’s hair has been the subject of fascination and intrigue for years. Most recently, Trump made headlines in July when a photo was taken of his hair looking gray during the COVID-19 pandemic.

President Trump and His Love of Fast Food

It is widely known that Trump enjoys fast food, and he has often served it to White House guests. For example, Trump fed a $5,500 feast of fast food to the national champion Clemson football team in 2019.

However, his preference extends past simple taste choices. Allegedly, the president prefers eating fast food because he is worried about being poisoned, according to one book.

“[Trump] had a longtime fear of being poisoned, one reason why he liked to eat at McDonald’s — nobody knew he was coming and the food was safely premade,” wrote Michael Wolff in “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”

The president is a notorious germaphobe who also forbids White House staff from handling his personal belongings. Supposedly, he is especially concerned with his toothbrush. In addition, he prefers staff to hold off changing his bedding until he’s taken the sheets off himself.

Wondering what Trump’s go-to meal is at McDonald’s? His order consists of “two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish, and a chocolate malted,” former aides Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie wrote in their book.
