Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson shares a prayer for America as the country anxiously awaits the final election results for the 2020 President of the US.
Original Duck Commander, Phil Robertson, shared a nearly three-minute video on his Instagram account yesterday of a prayer for the United States.
The ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Prays for America
“Father, we thank you for another day on planet earth,” Robertson starts with his head bowed and eyes shut. “We are taking it one at a time, but we are grateful that you hear our prayers.”
The sound of food sizzling on the stove is heard as he prays to bless it. He begins to pray for America and the current turmoil we are facing as we still do not have a President after two days of elections.
“Father, we are at a crossroads, it looks like. All the empires that have risen, that you have put in place, and all the ones you have taken down, Father, they start wanting for us in America. Many of our people, Father, have fallen for the ways of the evil one.”
Robertson continues while warning about what God can do to those who turn away from him.
“They have decided that it was not worthwhile to retain the knowledge of you. So for that, Father, we know that vengeance is yours. That you will — everything from pandemics, to floods, to pestilence, to brute force, we’ll trim it all to you, Father.”
Back to Our Roots
The heavily faith-driven Robertson family also hopes America can get back to where we started. Nearly 250 years ago, our founders built America on the foundation of faith, says Robertson.
“We know you love us. I pray you give us time to repent as a nation and turn back to you. We started out with you, with our Founding Fathers, but now we have strayed and gone away. And immorality is in our face and perversions, and we slaughter our own children. So I can see why, Father, that your judgment will come upon us unless we repent.”
“My prayer, that you be with one Mr. Donald J. Trump– you know him, Father. We started with him early. We told him what you told us to tell him– that Jesus died for him and was raised from the dead. Father, he seemed to have believed it– I’m not a mind reader, you are, but I pray, Father, give us four more years with him.”
Robertson finished up with what he and his family can do to better reflect and serve God and hopes others will do the same.
“Hopefully, by that time, we will do our job, we will serve you well,” he said. “We will reach out to our neighbors. We will point them to your son Jesus, and to you. Help us, Father, protect us from the evil one each and every day we live.”
The whole family shares in a closing “Amen” before all grabbing some food to eat.
