There are a ton of things to like about 9-1-1 but show creator Tim Minear doesn’t have a favorite aspect of the hit show. 9-1-1 is a fox Drama that follows the lives of first responders as they tackle emergencies and wrestle with their own personal lives. It’s one of the few shows that doesn’t stick to one type of first responder. Instead, the show looks at any from police to firefighters to paramedics.
When asked in an interview with AssignmentX if he had a favorite aspect of the show, whether that be the fire-fighters, the cops, or the other responders, Minear explained that he doesn’t see the show that way.
“No. I think it all works as a piece, so I wouldn’t say I have a favorite aspect of it, although I think the actual on-the-ground emergencies that Bobby and his crew show up to are probably the most visceral. And then when you can get Angela’s character into that, and Connie’s character, then you’re really cooking,” he said.
‘9-1-1’ Is Finally Back
It’s hard to enjoy any elements of the show when you’ve seen the whole thing and there’s nothing new to watch, but thankfully for fans, 9-1-1 is back after the summer hiatus. The season premiere followed the characters amidst the absolute chaos of a citywide blackout caused by a hacker, and the premiere for the next episode makes things look just as grim.
The following episode is a continuation of the season premiere, and boy, is there a lot of ground to cover. A serial rapist is on the loose, the hacker is still at large, and plenty of chaos was yet to unfold. Hopefully, the next episode will give fans more answers on whose behind the attack.
One Star says the Show is a ‘Tribute to First Responders’
“It’s an amazing show, and it’s a tribute to our first responders,” she told the publication. “I think it celebrates them, their lives, and the work that they do. We sort of take them for granted, but we want them to know that we do not take them for granted. And so hopefully audiences will join us in celebrating the work that they do.”
So even amidst all the chaos and even among the lighter moments, many of the cast members are truly in this for the types of people they are playing. It’s something that makes watching 9-1-1 even more enjoyable for fans. You can catch new episodes of 9-1-1- on Mondays at 8/7 central. The 9-1-1 spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star, is still on hiatus and will come back this winter.
