NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers is in the middle of a playoff run but may have a new project up next.
Rodgers recently revealed on the Pat McAfee Show that he will serve as a guest host on television quiz shot “Jeopardy!” The Green Bay quarterback says he is very much looking forward to hosting the show and calls the late Alex Trebek his idol. He had a mile wide smile across his face as he revealed he would be officiating an upcoming episode.
“One of my idols growing up was Alex Trebek,” The superstar quarterback says to McAfee. “They’re doing some guest hosting spots. It’s going to be release here pretty soon, but I have the opportunity to do one of those.”
McAfee joined in Aaron Rodgers’ glee and congratulated him on the honor. Rodgers is no stranger to the show either. He competed in a celebrity edition of the show in 2015. The uber-competitive athlete proves his brain is on par with his arm. He brought home the win in his first and only appearance.

Since the passing of longtime Jeopardy! host Trebek, show officials have put celebrities in to guest host the show till a permanent host is ready. Ken Jennings, the show biggest winner to date, is hosting episodes this week and is rumored to be in contention for the full time gig. Show officials insist they are no hurry to name a permanent host and are looking forward to seeing guest host in the interim.
Trebek passed away in November of last year after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80-years-old at the time of his passing.
Rodgers is having a big year on the football field and is the front runner for the NFL’s MVP award. He and the Green Bay Packers will take on the Los Angeles Rams this weekend in the second round of the playoffs.
