“No thank you?”

At least he was polite about it.

A fan asked Adam Levine on a Q&A session on his Instagram Stories if he would return to “The Voice.” While the singer was quick to turn down the idea, it certainly doesn’t appear to be out of any bad blood.

Instead, Levine had been a judge on the show since it started out in 2011. It seemed like it was just time for the 41-year-old to move on from his place in the red chair.

According to US Magazine, Levine also talked about his former colleague Blake Shelton on his Instagram. When asked if he missed working with him, Levine replied “Blake who?” In response to a question about his favorite Shelton album he replied, “Who is this Blake you speak of?”

It appears that the fun back-and-forth attitude between the two friends has not let up since Levine departed the show. In fact, the two still quarrel on Twitter telling fans that they are still very much in love.

Despite the two being separated in a professional sense, they are still trying to keep it together. In a “Late Night With Seth Meyers” interview Shelton said that he is cashing in a favor with Adam Levine.

“I’ve kind of decided that I’ve been doing this a long time now and I’ve got a lot of favors out there. He may not like it, but Adam Levine’s gonna have to get the band together and come and play our wedding.”

It seems like Levine might be in the hot seat for Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s wedding, which they plan on having after the pandemic.

Adam Levine on His Time on ‘The Voice’

Despite all his joking about the show, Levine expressed how much the time spent there meant to him.

“The Voice went on to be a life-shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever. Thank you, NBC for signing me up. I am truly honored to have been a part of something I’ll always cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you to every single coach I ever sat in those chairs with. That is [a] shared experience that is singularly ours. We have that for life. Thank you to everyone who supported this long strange and amazing left turn into a place I never thought I’d go,” Levine wrote in an Instagram post.

The Maroon 5 singer and his wife, supermodel Behati Prinsloo, have two young daughters. Now with less time at work, he gets to spend more quality time with them.

So, while he has no intention of coming back, he appears to have enjoyed his time there.
