“Alaskan Bush People” will be down one of its principal cast members when the show returns for its anticipated upcoming season.

Bear Brown announced that he will be leaving the show and won’t return for the upcoming season. In an Instagram post, Bear discussed the difficulties he’s had since his father Billy Brown passed away. The reality star is grieving his father’s death and doesn’t feel like he should continue the show. Bear Brown also thanked his fans for their support over the years.

On Instagram, he wrote, “Due to recent events and things I can’t discuss on social media, it’s with a heavy heart, I’ve decided to no longer continue filming for Alaskan Bush People! It’s been a wild ride! God bless everyone!”

Bear Brown Mourns Father Billy

It’s been a difficult time for the Brown family. Their patriarch and Bear’s father Billy Brown passed away in February after having a seizure at home. The “Alaskan Bush People” star had been in bad health in the weeks leading up to his death. Billy Brown reportedly had heart problems, complicated by the high altitudes in which he lived.

In the weeks leading up to his death, Brown experienced difficulty breathing. And the rest of the Brown family faced a reality without Billy around. Over the past few months, the Brown family has mourned the loss of Billy and struggled to move past his death.

Bear in particular has been vocal about how his father’s death has affected him. The reality star took to Instagram recently, sharing throwback photos of his father and memories as well. One of the things that he loved to do with Billy Brown was hunting.

“One of my favorite things to do with Dad when we’d go out and we’d hunt together was just sitting there in a blind and waiting or stalking through the woods,” Bear said of the “Alaskan Bush People” star. “I will always remember that about my dad and I will greatly miss the times we had and the times we won’t have again. But it will always be in my heart and I will always cherish those memories.”

Bear Brown was the one to confirm an upcoming season after his father’s death, answering a fan’s question on social media. But what the season will look like remains to be seen. The Brown family will be minus two of its main cast should it return to the air.
