The Alaskan Bush People star must be feeling glum of late, as his latest photo update likens his emotional state to a, well, you’ll see.

“How I feel……” says Bear Brown with the most extreme of ellipses. The reality star and self-professed King of Extreme is no stranger to emotion – or social media. Who is after 2020? It’s a simple enough caption, but one that rarely bodes well.

Bear has been through more than most the past year. He lost his father, Alaskan Bush People patriarch Billy Brown, back in February. Then, his split with longtime girlfriend-turned-fiance and mother of his only child, Raiven Adams, became painfully public. And even more recently, we’ve learned that Bear Brown will no longer be a part of the Alaskan Bush People cast moving forward. So, truly, the gent has much to feel a certain way about.

And what is that certain way, you ask? We can’t embed Bear’s latest Instagram post here, but we can describe it for you in both words and a supplementary image.

Imagine this dead tree below. But much smaller. A weed, in fact. Without the kestrel soaring overhead. There’s no daylight, either. Just the sad, sad, empty night, the weed illuminated by a single street light as it pokes through the urban landscape. Birdless. Alone.

In short: Imagine a dead, lone weed in the middle of the street at night and you’ve got a grasp on how Bear Brown is feeling.

‘Alaskan Bush People’s Bear Brown

As riveting as that build-up was, the Alaskan Bush People brother has reset his Instagram to full privacy settings. Because of this, we can’t embed his latest update here and show off the formations. What we can do, however, is guide you to his official account here. You can then request to follow Bear Brown and see exactly how he’s feeling for yourself.

Said privacy settings don’t stop the comments from flowing in, however. Which is good, because Bear Brown has himself a remarkably supportive group of followers. Literally hundreds of Alaskan Bush People fans are bringing words of encouragement to the alum, and we sure hope it’s helping.

“Resilient and strong! Where there is life growing in a hard world, there will always be hope,” responds top commenter Amanda.

“What I see in this picture is how strong that little plant is to overcome the odds, and you are the same. You’re resilient and will continue to grow no matter how difficult it may be, stand strong, proud and continue to be you and keep fighting the good fight. God bless you,” echoes fan Stefanie.

“Stay strong Bear, you are worth it!” adds Christina, alongside our personal favorite:

“Where life is, there is hope! Hang in there,” courtesy of follower Ilona.

Truer words, Bear. Truer words. Here’s to a chin up for Bear Brown.
