Following the passing of Alaskan Bush People star Billy Brown, fans have been trying to get their hands on his autobiography.

But that may be a little easier said than done. Brown’s memoir, One Wave at A Time: A True Story, has been selling for sky-high prices since his death. Even a used paperback edition is currently selling on Amazon for $65.68. And as for the “collectible” editions that were signed by Brown, those are ranging up to over $70.

According to GoodReads, Brown self-published his memoir using BootLocker.com. However, people wanting to get their hands on a copy have been surprised by the exorbitant price. One user on GoodReads says, “I went to Amazon to buy this book and they wanted too much money. I was shocked! Does anyone know why it’s so expensive? Where can I get it cheaper?”

The book features a summary of Brown’s life and includes memories from his early days. It definitely explains a lot behind his rise to stardom in Alaskan Bush People. The synopsis reads: “A true adventure of how a scared boy, orphaned at sixteen, grew to be a dad and husband of character as he fought to survive in the wilderness of Alaska while running from the emptiness left by his childhood loss.”

One Wave at A Time: A True Story has seen various reviews on GoodReads. That includes garnering an average of 3.78 out of five stars.

One person left a review saying, “I am torn between wanting to shake Billy Brown’s hand and just wanting to shake him until his teeth rattle! I am amazed at all the family has survived and all that Ami has gone through and stayed by his side. I’ll be honest, she’s much tougher and stronger than I.”

Alaskan Bush People Star Died After Suffering a Seizure

Bear Brown, the son of Billy, announced in a social media post on Monday that his father had died after suffering a seizure. Brown had been in and out of the hospital over the course of the past few years.

“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure,” Bear Brown said in part of an Instagram post. His father was 68 years old when he died.

The popular show, Alaskan Bush People, also confirmed Brown’s passing on their official Facebook page.

“We are devastated to hear of Billy Brown’s sudden passing,” the statement reads. “He has been part of the Discovery family for years. A trailblazer, a lovely man, and most definitely one of a kind. Our heart is with his family and those that knew him and loved him as they deal with this devastating loss.”

Alaskan Bush People has been on the Discovery Channel for 10 seasons. The newest season started back on Aug. 23rd of 2020.
