On February 7 of this year, “Alaskan Bush People” star Billy Brown died suddenly of a seizure. The 68-year-old starred on the Discovery Channel show for six years before his sudden death. This past Sunday, his closest family members aired a tribute episode commemorating the family patriarch’s life.

Among the stars that appeared on the special “Alaskan Bush People” show were Billy Brown’s children. Each child shared what their lasting memory of their father would be after his death. For the youngest child, Rain Brown, that memory that latched on hardest would be of her father’s endearing nickname for her.

In Sunday night’s episode, Rain Brown talked about “the way that he sounded when he called me ‘Baby Girl.'” The “Alaskan Bush People” star explained how when she felt “worried or stressed or anything, he’d be like, ‘Don’t worry about it, Baby Girl, you got this.'”

“Alaskan Bush People” Stars Remember Billy Brown

Each of Billy Brown’s children who starred on the Discovery Channel show “Alaskan Bush People” shared their memories of their father on last Sunday’s tribute episode. They titled the episode “The Legacy of Billy Brown” in commemoration of the long-time Discovery Channel star.

For instance, Snowbird, the oldest daughter of Billy Brown noted how the “Alaskan Bush People” patriarch would read to all of his children. As she recalled, he “would always tell stories even if it was about his childhood or things that he had written for us,” and the children would “all sit down and he’d read it page by page.”

Bear Brown, however, enjoyed the lessons learned in a hunting blind with his father. “One of my favorite things to do with Dad when we’d go out and we’d hunt together was just sitting there in a blind and waiting or stalking through the woods,” Bear recalled of the “Alaskan Bush People” star. “I will always remember that about my dad and I will greatly miss the times we had and the times we won’t have again. But it will always be in my heart and I will always cherish those memories.”

While the death of Billy Brown was certainly sudden and tragic, his memories will live on in his children forever. As for the future of the show “Alaskan Bush People,” Discovery Channel has yet to announce whether they will continue after season 12. However, they have already filmed season 13 before the passing of the show’s main star. A decision has not yet been made as to what to do with the unreleased season.
