“Alaskan Bush People” star Rain Brown has shared a sweet photo and a heartfelt message on Instagram about her late father Billy.
“There is a episode honoring our Da tonight at 8,” Brown posted Sunday. “Goes without saying that he will be very missed. Please tune in, this episode is very special. God bless.”
Rain Brown Says Dad Billy Was ‘True Friend’
Brown also took to Instagram immediately following her father’s death to mourn his passing. She called her dad a “true friend” and compared him to an angel.
“I lost a true friend. Not forever, but only in this world,” she wrote at the time. “Please hold my family in your thoughts and prayers, especially my mother. Please hold your family tight for me. Words cannot express how wonderful he was and is. But I will say, the closest thing to an angel I’ve ever known. God bless you da I love and miss you dearly. You will always be my hero. God bless everyone.”
Brown has really opened up on social media over the years, sharing thoughts about her mental health struggles and battles with stress.
Their father’s death is surely a stressful event for the Brown family. Over 12 seasons on the Discovery Channel reality show, the family has never faced a blow like this.
Discovery is gearing up for tonight’s tribute show, which will focus on Billy’s life and legacy.
“Through never-before seen footage and interviews, Billy speaks to the bush legacy he was driven to establish, fueled by faith and his deep adoration for his family,” the network said in a statement, per Deadline. “The Wolfpack will also honor the life of their dear patriarch and role model in the special through exclusive new and never-before seen interviews from Ami, Bear, Bam, Gabe, Noah, Bird and Rain.”
Billy Brown Died of a Seizure
On Feb. 7, Billy died of a seizure in his home. That turn of events followed a long decline in his health during the weeks and months prior to his death.
Billy had experienced difficulty breathing, which doctors reportedly said was due to trouble with his heart rather than his lungs. But Billy then ignored doctors’ advice that he move to a lower altitude, preferring to live and die on his own terms.
His death has met with an outpouring of sympathy from fans of the show. His wife Ami has spoken up to thank all the well-wishers from across the world who flooded social media with supportive messages.
Billy’s son Bear advised his followers to tell those closest to them that they’re loved while it’s still possible.
“You never know when you might not get the chance again!” Bear said.
