As we’ve said often in our coverage of the Brown family, son to Billy Brown, Bear, wears his heart on his sleeve. The self-professed “King of Extreme” continues to grieve the wrenching loss of his father. Through it all, Bear has taken to Instagram and his fans to help cope. In doing so, the Alaskan Bush People star shares glimpses of his late father regularly. Many of the photos are private, previously unseen looks at his family and patriarch.
“Rest In Peace Da, I love you more than words could ever say, I will miss you always and I look forward to seeing you in heaven when God calls me home!” Bear posts to his official Instagram recently. “You taught me everything! You taught me how to live! I love you Da, I love you more!”
Captions like this are common for the sweet son. Few will ever know their father quite like Bear knew Billy Brown. His latest posts to the social media platform show how strong their remarkable bond was – and will forever remain. To this end, Bear’s latest post is a powerful collage of his family in “action” within the Alaskan Bush. Billy is featured prominently, and Bear’s caption is as loving as they come.

Rare Glimpses of ‘Alaskan Bush People’ Family
Indeed, the entire “wolfpack” family was incredibly close, and those who survive Billy will forever remain so. While Bear is doing all he can to cope, his followers are treated to rare glimpses of the family. Many of the photos have never been seen before. Take these incredible, intimate shots of Billy with his grandson, for example:
“I’m glad my Dad got to meet my son, his grandson, I will always remember the twinkle in his eyes when he held him!” Bear captions the personal photos.
“Hold tight to your loved ones! You never know when it’s the last moment you’ll get with them,” he ends his caption. True words from a strong young man.
Bear’s tiny, adorable son River is seen with his grandparents, Billy and Ami in the personal family photos.
The Announcement: Bear Tells the World His Father is Gone
Through it all, it is easy to forget that Bear is the family member who had to break the news to the rest of the world. It was the devoted son himself who first told the world that Billy Brown was gone. The following post, which showcases an unseen photo of his father Billy and mother Ami, went live on Instagram on February 8, 2021.
“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure,” Bear shares in the original caption. “He was our best friend – a wonderful and loving dad, granddad and husband and he will be dearly missed. He lived his life on his terms, off the grid and off the land and taught us to live like that as well. We plan to honor his legacy going forward, and to continue with his dream. We ask for privacy and prayers during this painful time! God bless everyone!!!”
The touching tribute soon went viral as trades across the world became aware of Billy Brown’s passing. Soon, Alaskan Bush People fans across the globe were pouring out condolences to the Browns. Through it all, however, Bear stuck close by with his family, helping them through their grief.
Another sweet, previously unseen photo was recently shared by Bear. Within, we see Billy Brown sporting a huge smile aboard a specialized craft. Billy Brown’s love of boating and transportation vehicles was a big part of him, and was often featured in ‘Alaskan Bush People.’
All of our best to the Browns as they continue to navigate this tragedy.
