Alex Rodriguez’s Post Hours Before Jennifer Lopez Breakup News Surfaced Has Fans Sounding Off

The rumors are true. Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez have broken up, but prior to the news breaking, Rodriguez hinted at the split.

Alex Rodriguez Drops Hint

On April 14, Alex Rodriguez posted what looked to be a touching tribute video of photos of him and his fiance Jennifer Lopez. What fans didn’t realize is that it wasn’t a celebration of their relationship but a memorial to its ending.

The video was posted to Rodriguez’s Instagram story and has now expired. However, sneaky fans were sure to capture the video and repost it.

The clip portrays a shelf containing several picture frames of the power couple, A-Rod and J-Lo, as well as the two’s children from different marriages. The video was set to Coldplay’s somber song, “Fix You,” which may have been a red flag for fans hinting at the future.

In addition, Alex Rodriguez tagged Jennifer Lopez in the post.

The End of an Era

The next day the news broke. Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez had ended their long-term relationship and engagement over a month prior. They told the Today show on April 15 that they were better as friends.

“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so, we will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other, and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”

Rodriguez and Lopez have been together since 2017 and have been engaged for two years. In an interview from 2018, she reveals how smitten she was with her former baseball star.

“He’s brought something to my life that I’ve never had before, which is an unconditional support and love, kind of a matching of twin souls,” she said. “That’s a different thing for me — now I know what it’s like to be with me. He works as much as I do, he’s kind of as driven as I am.”

While reports first circled that the couple had broken up in March after being in different locations due to COVID. Sources noted that the two “never officially broke up.”

Today also reports that through a joint statement in March, Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez said, “All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things.”

Unfortunately, it looks like “things” became too big of a hill to overcome.

Their last photo together was posted by Rodriguez on March 26.
