Alex Trebek’s son is following through on one of his father’s final wishes and will give away the Jeopardy! host’s suits to charity.

Trebek chose the Doe Foundation. A nonprofit that assists men who were recently incarcerated or formerly homeless find work. The wardrobe will help them look more presentable and feel more confident for job interviews. TMZ reported the Trebek family will give away 14 full dress suits, 58 dress shirts, 300 neckties, 25 polos, 14 sweaters, 9 blazers, 9 pairs of dress shoes, 15 belts, 2 parkas, and 3 pairs of slacks.

Matt Trebek, Alex Trebek’s son, said he and his dad had very different styles, but his dad was always a “very dapper” dresser.

“He was pretty dapper when he would dress up,” Matt Trebek told Good Morning America. “Very clean and definitely had his own particular taste in the way he would dress. … I think our styles differ but he was obviously right with how he went about things.”

Matt Trebek is keeping one piece of clothing from his dad’s wardrobe. It’s a tie Jean Trebek, his mother and Alex’s wife, gave to Alex to wear on the show.

Alex Trebek died in November because of complications of pancreatic cancer. He was 80. Millions mourned the game show icon’s passing.

Alex Trebek Had Final Passing Wish for Us All

Alex Trebek quietly donated large amounts of money and time to a number of causes during his life, CNN reported. He said he hoped to be a force for good in the world.

“I don’t go out of my way to malign anybody,” he said in one of his final interviews. “I want to be considered as helpful and generous and kind.”

Besides his wardrobe, Alex Trebek is also giving away the proceeds from his book The Answer Is…: Reflections on My Life to charity. Trebek believed small gestures of kindness from many people could do great things to alleviate some of the problems in the world.

In one of the finale episodes of Jeopardy! he hosted, Trebek asked us all to give back.

“We’re trying to build a gentler, kinder society,” he said. “And if we all pitch in just a little bit, we’re going to get there”
