Chayce Beckham won “American Idol” in the Season 19 finale on ABC that had a star-studded lineup of music stars appear on Sunday night.

Beckham beat out Willie Spence as they were the final two contestants up for voting. “American Idol” started with the final three contestants including Grace Kinsler, but she didn’t make it to the last vote.

Among the music singers and groups performing on the show included Lindsey Buckingham, Alessia Cara, Luke Combs, Sheryl Crow, Mickey Guyton, Chaka Khan, Leona Lewis, and Macklemore.

‘American Idol’ Finale Opens Up With Macklemore Singing With Finalists

In fact, Macklemore opened “American Idol” by singing “Can’t Hold Us” with Kintsler, Spence, and Beckham.

Kintsler went first, singing Eric Carmen’s hit song “All By Myself.” Spence followed that by singing the Ray Charles classic “Georgia On My Mind. Beckham performed The Beatles’ “Blackbird.”

The “American Idol” winner will make a Monday morning appearance on Seacrest’s talk show, “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” that he cohosts with Kelly Ripa.

“American Idol” judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie also sang one of their hit songs on the show.

Show Marks Fourth Season That It Has Been On ABC

This marks the fourth season that this incarnation of “American Idol” has been on ABC. As longtime “Idol” fans know, the show originally ran from 2002 to 2016 on FOX for 15 seasons. There was a two-year break between the Fox version ending and ABC starting it back up again.

Now the format has remained the same. Three judges will listen to up-and-coming singers perform and those who prove themselves advance all the way to the final round.

Viewers at home also have an opportunity to vote for their favorite “American Idol” contestant. Their votes play a part in whether a contestant stays or goes on the show, too.

Previous Winners Include Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood

Previous “American Idol” winners include Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, and Scotty McCreery.

Original “Idol” judges were Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Simon Cowell. For the final three seasons on Fox, the show’s judges were Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick Jr.

Ryan Seacrest shared host duties in the show’s first season but has been the solo host since the second season.

At one time, “American Idol” was a consistent, highly-rated show in the Nielsen ratings. The show itself or the season finale took a No. 1 spot between the 2003-04 and 2010-11 television seasons.
