It is common for fans of television shows – be they scripted or reality series – to “ship” characters and stars. This is true for the fans of the popular History Channel show, “American Pickers.”
For years, some fans have wanted to know if host Mike Wolfe and his assistant and Antique Archaeology coworker, Danielle Colby, were – or would become – a romantic item. We hate to burst the “American Pickers” romance bubble of those fans, but it appears that Wolfe and Colby are just friends.
According to Nicki Swift, one reason for the speculation about Wolfe’s love life is that he pretty much kept it off of the “American Pickers” series. This made some viewers curious about what was going behind the scenes, particularly with Colby. “American Pickers” has been on the air since 2010. It also included pick Frank Fritz as part of the adventures to find unique items across the country.
Despite the years they spent working together on the show and in the Antique Archaeology shop in Le Claire, Iowa, the relationship between History Channel stars has always been platonic and professional.
In fact, Mike Wolfe does have a romantic relationship in his life. It is with his wife, Jodi Faeth, who works as an accountant. The two were reportedly wed during 2012. They originally met almost two decades before in 1994. Wolfe and Faeth have a daughter. Her name is Charlie.
‘American Pickers’ Star Danielle Colby is the Mother of Two Children
Danielle Colby is also a parent of two children. Their names are Miles and Memphis. Unfortunately, the success and fame “American Pickers” brought her took a toll on her marriage to Robert Strong. The couple eventually divorced. She talked about this during a 2012 interview with WQAD-TV. Regarding the relationship, she said, “fame and notoriety are not easy for (Strong) to deal with, at all. So the relationship ended up not working out.”
Colby was married again from 2015 until 2018. At that time she was married to Alexandre De Meyer, a French artist. Her latest relationship is with Jeremy Scheuch. He is an underwater photographer. The two are now engaged.
Danielle Colby once said that she is open to the idea of doing a spin-off of “American Pickers.”
“I highly doubt that Antique Archaeology is the last job I’ll ever have in my life, though it is definitely the coolest job I’ve had to date. It all depends on when my time there has run its course,” Colby told the Miami New Times in 2012. “I have an obligation to Mike who put me in the position I’m in right now, and I’ll respect that ’til the end. My plan is just to stick around and see what happens. But I have a contract, and I’ll of course honor that contract. I guess that’s a sugar-coated way of saying I’d love a spin-off.”
