‘American Pickers’: How Much Weight Did Frank Fritz Lose?

Former “American Pickers” star Frank Fritz hasn’t appeared on the popular show in over a year, making us wonder what he’s been up to during that time.  Now, the History channel star has broken his silence and revealed he’d made some significant lifestyle changes during his hiatus.

During an interview with The Sun, Fritz explained how his new health-conscious way of living has given him a new perspective on life.

The once heavy TV show host is now rocking a much slimmer look. Since he ended his stint on the show in March of 2020, Fritz went on a weight loss journey that led him to lose 65 pounds, which he attributes to living a healthier lifestyle as he undergoes Crohn’s, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease.

“The weight loss is me watching what I’m eating so I can keep my disease under control the best I can. I’m just eating healthy,” he said in the interview.

“After a while, I started watching what I’m doing, and I’m doing a little bit more walking. I keep pretty busy around here too, taking care of the grass and getting rid of the weeds.”

In addition to watching what he eats, Frank Fritz also noted that he is sober. “Not drinking helps with the weight loss because when you drink, you eat. I’m not dieting.”

He added, “I was drinking a little bit too, but that didn’t work out either. I haven’t had a drink in almost nine, ten months. It would have been a year, but I had one slip up; it was maybe for four hours, but it was enough.”

Frank Fritz blamed his heavy drinking on his breakup from longtime girlfriend and ex-fiancé Diann Bankson. “I tried to drink her away,” Fritz said of the heartbreaking split.

Bankson sued Fritz for negligence in January of 2020; however, she dismissed the case later in March. She revealed that she and Fritz were engaged in 2017 and were living together in an Iowa farmhouse.

According to court documents, in November 2018, she “walked in and caught him in bed with another woman.” After the pair reunited, Bankson alleged there was an incident at the farmhouse when Fritz and a friend set off fireworks.

She claimed the two “had been drinking” when she went into the home while they set off the fireworks. She added in the documents that the men could not light a firework.

“Both defendants then put it in a closed cylinder vintage ashtray and tried to light it there. The firework did not light again and the defendant just left it in the covered intake ashtray instead of properly disposing of the firework,” she alleged in the documents.

She then adds that no one told her about the ashtray, and she used it while smoking a cigarette. “The ashtray blew up severely, burning her hand and arm with third-degree burns and burnt off eyelashes and eyebrows.” She claimed her ex “refused” to “take her to the hospital” and instead told her to “toughen up.”

Several days later, she went to the hospital, where doctors treated her for third-degree burns.
