We know from her Instagram page that “American Pickers” star Danielle Colby loves to be in the water. But in her most recent post, she contemplates why that is.
Colby shared a stunning shot of herself in the waves at some gorgeous beach. The sun and waves tint the sky almost purple in the pic, and palm trees dot the coast. We can just see Colby’s head and shoulders peeking out above the waves.
In her caption, the “American Pickers” star turns contemplative and thoughtful as she ponders the things that “draw” her to the water.
“Is it because I’m a fire sign that I feel so drawn to the water when things get turbulent? Is it because I grew up in a landlocked place and feel the need to make up for lost time? Did my Irish ancestors hide the truth about being part Selkie? I may never know for sure, but one thing is for certain and that is the water heals me,” the “American Pickers” star wrote.
On her Patreon page, Colby informs patrons about different ecological and historical topics that are important to her. She recently posted an update about the history of bathing and a photoshoot with green costume company, the Oakum Collection. Now, it looks like she’s turning to how saltwater can be healing and beneficial.
The “American Pickers” star excels at participating in her research endeavors. She’s not one to just sit behind a desk and read, but she really immerses herself in the experience of research.
‘American Pickers’ Star Mike Wolfe Explains Why He Hired Danielle Colby
Danielle Colby’s become an ingrained part of the “Ameican Pickers” team. Truthfully, the show wouldn’t be complete without her. But how did she get signed on with Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz in the first place?
According to an in-person Q&A the cast did in 2010, Wolfe and Colby knew each other for 10 years before they started the show. And while he knew he needed an expert researcher, Wolfe knew he wanted someone a little outside the norm as well.
“I wanted someone that did not look like they would work in any antique shop,” Wolfe explained. “Because I wanted our show to be looked at in a different way. I wanted people to look at antiques like they’re fun, they’re rad, they’re killer, they’re awesome. I wanted people to know that you don’t have to have a blue blazer and 10 cats to be an antique dealer. So I think we proved that now. Danielle has helped us do that.”
She certainly has. Colby represents the full package, with her look, brains, and passion for history.
