“American Pickers” stars Mike Wolfe and Danielle Colby have worked together for more than a decade. They have a relationship built on respect for the other and what each of them brings to their craft.
So, it’s not surprising that Colby feels like she is very connected to her co-star. The 45-year-old reality television star opened up about their relationship during a recent appearance on the Sailor Jerry Podcast, according to FOX News.
Based on what the “American Pickers” star had to say, her collaboration with her co-star has given them both something they needed over the years.
“I think he just needed a female force in his life that could kick his a— every once in a while. I really needed a male force in my life that didn’t think I was crazy for expecting the same thing they expected out of life,” Danielle Colby shared.
Their partnership has created a very close bond between the two reality television stars. And, according to Colby, their bond will always be a part of their lives.
“I think it all kind of came together, and we have loved and fought so much over the last 20 years, and we’re forever intertwined,” the “American Pickers” star also said.
Danielle Colby Said She and Her ‘American Pickers’ Co-Star Are ‘Life Married’
In many ways, Mike Wolfe is Danielle Colby’s work spouse. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, a “work spouse” is a co-worker with whom you share an incredibly close, yet platonic, bond. This is a bond that Colby and Wolfe share. And she’s very well aware that it’s a bond she committed as long as she is alive. She said that she remains committed to their friendship. She remains so because of all of the support Mike Wolfe has given her over the years.
“We’re life married. I don’t even know how he gets out of this, poor sucker. He’s been a rock for me. And I hope that I’m that for him too, because he deserves that,” Danielle Colby also said.
During her recent podcast appearance, Colby opened up about why Mike Wolfe wanted her to join the “American Pickers” family.
“We both came from a really small town and I heard of him. He had been picking for a long time, and he had heard of me because I liked to skate down on the river with my kids and some friends,” Danielle Colby recalled. “Basically, he ran into me and we were at a yard sale and I was really sassy with him of course. He thought that was funny… There are people that you just collide with in life and you don’t understand why… I think we just bonded really early, and we’ve been having adventures ever since.”
