“American Pickers” star Danielle Colby gave her fans some insight into how she is feeling these days via a social media post she shared on Friday, Aug. 20.
As fans of the popular reality show are aware, things in the “American Pickers” world have been fairly dramatic lately. The tenure of Frank Fritz, one of the show’s original hosts, recently came to an end. He was reportedly fired from the show, according to The Sun. Also, Fritz’s exit shines the spotlight even brighter on Mike Wolfe, the other original host, and Danielle Colby.
On Instagram on Friday, the 45-year-old Colby shared a photo of herself swimming underwater in some beautiful waters. “Flashback Friday from swimming with the Blue Tang,” she also posted.
But what gives insight into the “American Pickers” star’s feelings is the quote she shared along with the photo. According to Colby, the quote is attributed to the famous 20th-century Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. The quote appears to highlight how Colby has felt “bizarre and flawed.”
Here is the quote as shared by Colby via Instagram: “I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it’s true I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you.”
‘American Pickers’ Star Danielle Colby Has Said That She Wants to Have Her Own Show
In the battle between Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, Danielle Colby was reportedly taken Wolfe’s side. She did so in a selfie caption on Instagram. “Out on the road again with my best friend and my big brother whose I support fully and stand behind. Thank you for the last decade of advocacy towards myself and others on set. …” Colby said.
Colby also shared a positive message with Fritz in the caption. “… Frank caused so much pain for himself that it has been hard to watch. I truly hope Frank receives all the help he needs to become well after years of being unwell,” she said.
Colby also confirmed that she was filming a new season of “American Pickers” with Wolfe.
While she has spent a lot of her time working on “American Pickers,” Danielle Colby also has an idea for her own television show. This show, should it ever become a reality, would share the world of vintage lifestyles with viewers. Colby talked about her series idea during a 2014 interview.
“They pick one trend and engross themselves completely. It’s really interesting but I would still tell the story from the perspective of the buyer and the pieces they collect,” Danielle Colby also said. “I still think that’s the most important thing – the story of the item and the person the item comes from.”
