American Pickers star Danielle Colby’s new cat costume would make Carole Baskin jealous. The vintage-inspired costume is a fantastic and unique twist on Halloween.

“Happy #caturday all you cool cats and kittens! I have so many variations of this costume and you can see the evolution of it on my Patreon,” the American Pickers star wrote in the Instagram post. “Go check them out and let me know which you like best before I take this baby to @dirtyshowdetroit in February.”

The 20’s inspired cat costume comes with tasseled lace half sleeves, fishnets, leopard print heels, and an adorable leopard cap with ears. Of course, the body, also leopard print, has a great tail that completes the look. While she’s planning on wearing the look to a February event, she’d be a standout contestant in any Halloween costume contest.

She’s also posted a couple of different iterations of this costume on her Instagram. One features a very interesting Dracula-esque cape. But this one keeps things simple.

Colby looks positively Radiant in the fun pic. It’s hard to believe that there was ever any doubt that she belonged on American Pickers, but the History Channel originally didn’t want her on the show.

Mike Wolfe and the Crew Fought the History Channel to Get Colby on The Show

When American Pickers was picked up by the history channel, Mike Wolfe brought Daniele Colby, his long-time friend, in to do the show. But the History Channel didn’t want her in front of the camera. Thankfully, it wasn’t long before they changed their minds.

“What you see Danielle doing on the show, that’s what I used to do,” he continued. “I would research my trips, have five or six places I would go, then I would do freestyling, showing up in spots, and looking for stuff. I hired her,” Mike Wolfe explained in an interview with Script Mag. But unfortunately, there were some bumps in the road.

“They (History Channel) came Sept 8th, they’re filming me and Frank and asked who Danielle is. They said, ‘We’re not filming her… we have no contract with her… History just wants you and Frank.’ I explained she is the one telling us where to go, and I think it would benefit all of us if they filmed her. They said no,” he continued.

But thanks to a determined crew, Colby got her spot on the show. The crew would take videos on their phones of Colby interacting with the guys and send it into the History Channel. Once the History Channel recognized their chemistry, they allowed Colby her place on the show. Since then, she’s been an important asset on American Pickers.
