What makes for a good deal? This one Portland coach just offered to buy fans their beer at an upcoming football game and that sounds pretty good to me. Miranda Lambert also just celebrated 18 years since signing her very first record deal yesterday. That deal seemed to work pretty well for her. Then, of course, there’s Howie Mandel and the infamous question: “Deal? Or no deal?” These might be some decent examples of a few different bargaining aficionados, but at the end of the day, they’ve got nothing on seasoned-pro Mike Wolfe. The “American Pickers” star has struck a few hard bargains over the years, but you’ll want to see this “mega bundle” of antique signs for yourself.
Mike Wolfe Gets a Sign… Or Two, or Three
Mike Wolfe bargains for a living. This means a lot of intense negotiations and some pretty heated conversations. The History Channel shared a snippet of one of these “American Pickers” negotiations from Season 13, Episode 18. The Episode brands the name “The Bundle Brothers.” In the video, we see Mike Wolfe deep up to his elbows in trying to get the best deal. Now, the bundle includes a ton of antique signs as well as some glass panels, making it pretty expensive upfront. However, it also means the potential for a wider profit margin after the flip.
The tricky part of the whole picking process, is the fact that the people Wolfe is buying from are also trying to snag the best bargain. In the clip, we see Mike go back and forth with the current owner of the “mega bundle.” They joke that he might have finally met his match. At one point, he even takes his jacket off so he can focus better. At the end of the day, though, he’s able to snag everything for $2500. Not bad when he estimates their value at $4000, for a total profit and flip of about $2000.
What do you think, do you think Mike Wolfe could have snagged a better deal? You can watch how it all went down and make the decision for yourself:
Couples That Pick Together, Stay Together
Mike Wolfe and girlfriend, Leticia Cline, just finished a picking trip together. The 57 and 42-year-old respectively, went public with their relationship just last month. Actually, they chose to do it during a trip to Mike’s hometown in Iowa.
Their recent picking date revolved around finding bikes and some other vintage goodies. It must have been a pretty long day, because Leticia joked in her Instagram Story that the couple started their day while the rest of the world was sleeping, and she even forgot to eat the rest of the day. All in all, it must be true. Couples that pick together, really do stay together.
