“America’s Got Talent” just returned for a new season and it certainly has America’s attention.

The popular show revolving around all kinds of talent, not just singing, kicked off its 16th season last night. People will show off whatever interesting talent they have to offer. From singing to dancing to comedy to magic to dangerous stunts and anything else in between.

On the other end of the performers is an impressive line-up of judges — Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara.

Due to its wide range of performers, many people gravitate toward “America’s Got Talent” when it’s on. It has a way of separating itself from singing dominated shows like “The Voice,” “American Idol,” and “The Masked Singer.”

According to TV Line, NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” opened up with 7.1 million viewers watching closely. The show had a 0.85 demographic rating, which is actually lower than some of its previous ratings in the past. Regardless, it dominated over the other programs on Tuesday night.

“Mike Tyson: The Knockout” had 2.6 million viewers and a 0.4 demo rating. On FOX, “LEGO Masters'” season two premiere only had 1.53 million viewers and a 0.4 demo rating. The CW has “Superman & Lois” on the Tuesday night slot. However, there are only about 900,000 people tuning in and a 0.1 demo rating.

10-Year-Old Dominates ‘America’s Got Talent’

While “America’s Got Talent” dominated Tuesday night ratings, one particular contestant seems to have captured everyone’s attention on the show.

A 10-year-old boy named Peter Rosalita showed up with a powerhouse voice. He stepped onto the stage to perform his cover of “All By Myself” by Celine Dion. Not only did he choose a difficult and iconic song, but he absolutely nailed the high notes and vocal depth of the song.

Simon Cowell, who is lovingly and hilariously crabby and rude, spoke very highly of the rising superstar ready to dethrone Mariah Carey.

“You have an amazing voice, an amazing personality, an amazing energy. Everyone is gonna fall in love with you after this audition,” Cowell said.

Rosalita shared his plans for if he wins the $1 million prize at the end of it all. He wants to treat himself to a Nintendo Switch and he also needs a laptop for online school.

“America’s Got Talent” is known for shocking and vibrant performances. After only the season premiere, a lot more talent is surely in store.
