Comedic legends Tim Allen and Richard Karn are back together once again with “Assembly Required” on the History Channel.
The two long-time pals starred in the 90’s hit sitcom “Home Improvement” as Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor and Al Borland. The characters host a fictional do-it-yourself reality show “Tool Time” on the popular series. Now, the two are hosting an actual do-it-yourself program show with actual contestants competing to build unique gadgets. “Assembly Required” is already doing quite well for itself and is in the process of building a large and loyal fan base.
The show will air the third episode of its first season on Tuesday, March 9. The episode is dubbed “Kicking Grass” and the History Channel recently put out a sneak peek of the new episode. The new episode teaser can be viewed on the History Channel website.
‘Assembly Required’ Pits Competitive Builders Against Each Other
In the 20-second teaser clip, Allen and Karn present the day’s challenge to the contestants — and it is a doozy. The contestants will have a limited amount of time to complete the task in order to win the episode of “Assembly Required.”
“You’re going to show us how to build a shock-absorbing food tray,” Allen says the episode’s challenge. Karn then informs the builders that the product must be extremely durable to pass the test.
“We are going to test the durability by dropping a weight on it,” he says to make the challenge even more difficult.
Karn then announces that the two winners of the first round will then compete against each other for the win. They will be building landscaping machines in the second round.
The video shows one of the builders attempting to weld together what appears to be a hang glider and a recliner. Judging from the video, Karns gets to be the one to test out the contraction.
The official synopsis of Assembly Required states, “home repair experts compete to rebuild and breathe new life into everyday household items.”
it certainly appears Karn and Allen are happy to be back together and having a blast with their new show.
