Ayesha Curry Sounds Off on Haters Calling Hypocrisy of Old Post After She Shared a Nude Photo

by Chris Haney

Recently, NBA superstar Steph Curry’s wife, Ayesha, posted a nude photo that had many calling her out for hypocrisy, but she’s fighting back against the claims.

Ayesha Curry is no stranger to controversy when it comes to social media interactions. On multiple occasions, Curry has voiced her strong opinions on Twitter and Instagram, and even argued with other users. For example, she infamously criticized the NBA Finals for being rigged just because her husband and the Golden State Warriors lost.

Fast forward to last week when the cookbook author shared a tasteful nude with her Instagram followers. Curry is completely covered up in the photo. She’s sitting down with bare, crossed legs in front of her that somewhat hides the rest of her. For all we know, Curry isn’t actually naked at all since we can’t really tell. As she jokes in her Instagram caption, it’s all “shins and shoulders.”

“📷 from our @sweetjuly BODY feature. So many natural wellness and skin remedies in this issue! @stephencurry30 got to pick the photo😏. Shins and shoulders y’all, shins and shoulders. 🤷🏽‍♀️,” Curry wrote on Instagram.

Ayesha Curry Offers Explanation of Old Twitter Post

Social media users were quick to remind Ayesha Curry of a tweet from more than five years ago. She’s typically known as being fairly conservative with her appearance, and has made that known. In fact, she’s seemingly spoken out at times against women who reveal too much in online posts.

“Everyone’s into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style. I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters,” she said in a Dec. 2015 Twitter post.

Considering the internet always holds a grudge, it didn’t take long for social media users to lash out. They immediately brought Curry’s old tweet back to the spotlight by mentioning it in the comment section of her nude photo. The trolling seemed to get out of hand, so she decided to fight back by explaining her old tweet further.

“When you realize I was talking about a person wearing nipple pasties leaving a Starbucks and thought it was hilarious… but no one cared to ask,” she replied with some laughing emojis.

Following another social media user accusing Curry of body shaming , the mother of three said that she “never” once told another woman they had to cover up. Yet there’s still plenty of people online who aren’t buying her explanations. For Curry’s part, she seems to be handling the situation well as she laughed off the criticism.
