Congratulations to Barbra Streisand, who just became the first woman to make Billboard 200 charts for six consecutive decades.

The eight-time Grammy winner’s latest album, Release Me 2, hit the Billboard charts at number 15 today(August 19th). With that feat, she became the first woman to release a chart-topper at least once a decade since 1960.

The actress and songstress’s career comes with a long list of accomplishments. Aside from her collection of Grammy’s, Barbra Streisand also has the most top-40 charting albums released by a female. Aretha Franklin follows Streisand with 26. If Barbra Streisand releases another album that makes it to the charts, she could overtake the current overall record holder, Frank Sinatra.

Barbra Streisand Celebrates 23rd Wedding Anniversary

Streisand’s husband, James Brolin, chatted about his 23rd wedding anniversary with the hosts of The Talk this past June. He said that his relationship is as strong as ever.

The couple married in 1998 at Streisand’s picturesque Malibu estate, and throughout the years, they have shared their love for each other with fans.

Brolin told the hosts that people—such as his ex-wife—told the couple they wouldn’t last. But he believes they work well together.

Before tying the knot, he heard that Barbra Streisand was “a tough one,” but he loves that about her. “I like women who say their peace,” he said. “And I’m a calming factor. She gets me up and doing things I wouldn’t normally accomplish. It’s like a perfect situation, the two of us.”

After Brolin’s candid interview about his enduring love with Barbra Streisand, fans took to Instagram to leave their well-wishes. “Congratulations!! Two of my favorite people. People meeting people ❤️😘” one viewer wrote. Another commented with, “She is easy to love!❤️❤️❤️”

Streisand Expresses Distaste For ‘A Star is Born’ Remake

Shortly after the release of her chart-topping album, Release me 2, Streisand expressed her disappointment over the re-make of A Star is Born.

The original version of the film was released in 1937. The heart-wrenching movie was so successful that it was redone a few times throughout the years. Barbra herself starred alongside Kris Kristofferson in the 1976 remake. Her version earned four Oscar nominations and celebrated two wins for best music and original song. A Star is Born also snagged a Grammy for best original score.

Bradly Cooper and Lady Gaga starred in the latest remake, and the two earned a list of awards and nominations themselves—including four Grammys. And while Barbra Streisand says she can’t “argue with the success,” she said she just doesn’t care as much about success as she does originality.
