Bear Grylls, one of the most popular outdoor survivalists to grace the television, has announced who his first guest will be on a new series of “Running Wild with Bear Grylls.”

This series has been on for five seasons and has premiered 43 episodes. Guests so far have been Zac Efron, Channing Tatum, Ben Stiller, Kate Winslet, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Hudson, President Barack Obama, and several others.

The show is on National Geographic and clips can also be seen on YouTube. For example, this clip is of Brie Larson eating a rhino beetle with Bear.

Bobby Bones and Caitlin Parker

While many of the guests have been actors, clearly not all of them have. For the first episode of the next season, American radio and television personality, Bobby Bones, will take on the challenge of surviving with Bear Grylls.

Bones is most known for his show, “The Bobby Bones Show.” On the show is where Grylls called in to let fans know the news.

Both Bones and his fiancé Caitlin Parker will be taking on the task. Bones was on the show last year, however, it was by himself. The newest season will be bringing in more pairs to survive together. They will be the first couple to be on the show. Hopefully, the newly engaged won’t mind seeing each other do wild things like drink pee or eat yak eyeballs.

When talking about the upcoming episode, Grylls said that he thinks surviving out in the wild will force the couple to face things together.

When asked about how this relates to marriage, Grylls talked about the sheer weight of bonding out in the wild.

“It’s like a pressure cooker of marriage, but instead of things taking 25 years to come out it comes out in about 25 minutes … we’ll have fun,” Grylls said.

Marriage and Survival

While talking about the show, Grylls said he had a blast filming with Bones. For Bobby Bones, he vowed to never abandon himself in the wild ever again. He seems to have broken his vow.

His fiancé, however, is an athlete and loves adventure. Bones anticipated she will dominate the opportunity. Bear Grylls also gave Bones some advice regarding his soon-to-be marriage. He said that marriage is the “one thing worth protecting” ahead of other things like a career. Grylls has been married for 21 years to his wife, Shara Grylls.

The episode will come out sometime this year and they are set to film it very soon.

In the meantime, Bear Grylls has expanded his terrain to include movies. He has his first movie, “You vs. Wild,” coming out on Netflix next week. While originally meant to be a series, it ultimately became a movie instead.

The movie will be an interactive experience between Grylls and the viewers. They will ultimately decide the outcome and the decisions he makes along the way.
