We’re getting closer and closer to the December 10 release date of the highly anticipated film “Being the Ricardos.”

Nicole Kidman is starring in the Aaron Sorkin-directed biopic that will dive into one of the most famous couples in Hollywood history — Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Kidman will star as Lucille Ball and Javier Bardem will star as Desi Arnaz in the drama.

“Being the Ricardos” is a drama that will go behind one week of production on an episode of “I Love Lucy.”

During that tumultuous week, work issues and relationship troubles continue to complicate things for the “I Love Lucy” pair.

Trailer for ‘Being the Ricardos’

As one of the most known comedy figures ever, viewers will get a look at more of the drama that took up Ball’s time. This is evident in the new full-length trailer exclusively through The Hollywood Reporter.

The trailer gives us a glimpse into marital problems, which would eventually lead the couple to divorce in 1960. The trailer also hints that the movie will explore the FBI investigation into Lucille Ball. She had testified in front of the House Un-American Activities Committee. It was regarding the fact that she had registered as a member of the Communist party in 1936. She assured them it was to satisfy her then-dying grandfather.

During the trailer, we see from the perspective of the lights and crew members filming an episode. Kidman is wearing a very Lucy-inspired pink blouse during the scene. Bardem then walks in and delivers the iconic line, “Lucy, I’m home!”

She then freezes on the live stage and we’re launched into all the drama expected on “Being the Ricardos.” At one point you can see Kidman holding a newspaper with the headline, “Does Desi Really Love Lucy?” This was an actual January 1955 issue of a tabloid called “Confidential.”

“What’s she upset about? I don’t take out other broads. I just take out hookers,” Desi Arnaz reportedly told a friend at the time, according to Vanity Fair. The article went into detail on Desi Arnaz and his allegedly unfaithful ways.

Famous Cast on the Upcoming Film

At one point, Bardem delivers the haunting line “If they boo you, we’re done.” From there, the trailer takes a dramatic turn. It then features the bold and in-charge Lucille Ball America knew. Alia Shawkat, who plays TV writer Madelyn Pugh, whispers to Kidman’s character “you’re my hero,” to which she responds, “I care about what’s funny.”

Also starring alongside Kidman and Bardem are Nina Arianda as Vivian Vance and J.K. Simmons as William Frawley. Jake Lacy will play Bob Carroll Jr., a TV writer.

Clark Gregg, Tony Hale, and Linda Lavin are a few others with notable roles.

In addition to launching in theaters on December 10, “Being the Ricardos” will also be available to stream starting on December 21 on Amazon Prime Video.
