The news of “Better Call Saul” star Bob Odenkirk’s collapse on set – and ensuing hospitalization – has shocked his fans and costars. They are worried for him and hoping for the best. However, as of the early afternoon hours (ET time) of Wednesday, July 28, his status is not all that clear.

According to Deadline, Odenkirk collapsed on the set of the popular show on Tuesday. As fans are aware, it is a spinoff of the well-respected hit series, “Breaking Bad.” That series, which aired from 2008 until 2013, starred Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul as the lead characters.

The 58-year-old Odenkirk reprised his role as the sometimes sleazy, yet usually clever, lawyer Saul Goodman, aka Jimmy McGill, in “Better Call Saul.” The actor, his fellow cast members, and crew were filming an episode of the spinoff’s sixth season when Odenkirk was rushed from the set to the hospital. The show’s first episode aired in 2015.

After news of Bob Odenkirk’s collapse, some of his very famous friends took to social media to share their well-wishes. One of those famous friends is Odenkirk’s co-star David Cross. Cross, who also appeared in “Arrested Development,” worked with Odenkirk in “Mr. Show with Bob and David,” which aired on HBO.

Cross shared his belief that his friend and co-star would survive this medical ordeal. “I will share what I know when I can but Bob is one of the strongest people I know both physically and spiritually. He WILL get through this,” Cross tweeted.

Michael McKean also shared his thoughts about Odenkirk’s collapse. McKean plays Chuck McGill in “Better Call Saul.”

“Sending huge love to our @mrbobodenkirk. You got this, brother,” McKean tweeted.
