Betty White has had an iconic career of over 70 years in the business. In fact, she has the Guinness World Record for the longest TV career of any female entertainer.

White is 99 right now and many of her fans are convinced that their favorite quick-witted workaholic must live forever.

A world without Betty White seems like it would be terribly bland.

White is known for her role in shows like “The Golden Girls,” “Hot in Cleveland,” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” She has also been in several movies like “You Again” and “The Proposal.”

White’s ability to make her fans laugh has not gotten any dimmer from the ’50s to now. Her career has been marked by a lot of laughs and a commitment to the industry. Her other commitments in life included being married three times. However, White made the choice to not have kids during her life.

Perhaps, she was just too busy being iconic to have children.

No Regrets for Betty White

When asked why she hasn’t had children, White has never hesitated to say she does not regret the choices she has made. While she shouldn’t have to justify her personal choices, White has always been open about them.

She was with her husband Allen Ludden from 1963 until he died in 1981. He had three children of his own that White helped raise during that time. According to The List, White said that she was blessed to have three stepchildren.

Before that, she was married to a pilot, Dick Barker in 1945. White joked she wasn’t cut out for the chicken farm life and fled the same year.

White was also with Hollywood agent Lane Allen in 1947 for a few years.

However, having kids isn’t something that White wanted for herself. Despite marriages and relationships, she had always made that choice for herself.

“No, I’ve never regretted [not having kids]. I’m so compulsive about stuff. I know if I had ever gotten pregnant, of course, that would have been my whole focus. But I didn’t choose to have children because I’m focused on my career. I just don’t think, as compulsive as I am, that I could manage both,” White told CBS News, according to Distractify.

White has and continues to stay focused on her legendary career. With Primetime Emmy Awards, a Daytime Emmy Award, a Grammy, and several Actors Guild Awards, it definitely worked out for her. Fans will have plenty to remember her by.

Acting was her greatest commitment and her movies, TV shows, and all her other roles were her great accomplishments.

Life in Isolation

Since the pandemic started, Betty White has been isolating in her home. According to CNN, she is reading the L.A. Times from cover to cover, does thousands of crossword puzzles, sips on vodka martinis, and eats hot dogs and french fries.

No one is allowed in her house who isn’t helping her with something. She is also being visited by ducks in her backyard.

She also shared a message with the world through her friend, according to Closer Weekly. “Betty’s message to the world is to slow down and enjoy what you have: family, friends, your pets. She says that the pandemic is serious, but we have come through worse. It’s Mother Nature’s way of telling us all to slow down.”
